"Sticks and Stones" at our school
Was tun gegen Mobbing? – White Horse Theatre zeigt's
"Sticks and Stones" hieß das Theaterstück in einfacher englischer Sprache, das am 21.11.25 für 186 Mittelstufler (Klassen 7, 8 und 9) aufgeführt wurde, dank Spenden der Sparkasse und des Fördervereins. Die vier professionellen Schauspieler aus Großbritannien — James Arkinstall, Charlotte Coqueral, Tom Thacker und Mary Timber-Hill — begeisterten unsere Schüler unter anderem mit sehr real wirkenden Kampfszenen und nahegehenden Wortgefechten.
"Sticks and Stones" veranschaulicht, wie sehr Mobbing sowohl physisch als auch psychisch verletzen kann. Darüber hinaus demonstriert das Stück auf einzigartige Art und Weise, was Mobber antreibt und wie sie ihre Macht verlieren.
Im Anschluss an die Aufführung nutzten die Schüler jede Gelegenheit, Fragen auf Englisch zu stellen. Das Interesse war immens, sodass bei Weitem nicht alle Schüler ihre Fragen loswerden konnten.
Folgende Rezension aus dem Englisch-Unterricht soll exemplarisch für Reaktionen unserer Schüler stehen. Abweichende Meinungen sind natürlich nicht ausgeschlossen.

"Sticks and Stones" at our school
On 21st November, there was an English theatre play at our school. The play is about bullying in school, and the performance took place in our gym. The play is called "Sticks and Stones" by Peter Griffith, and it was performed by White Horse Theatre.
The play is based on true stories, which is scary. It's a drama play about Tony and Ruth, who are bullied by Jim and Lauren. I particularly enjoyed the way the actors hit each other without hurting themselves. The performances were strong because they looked very believable, and I was impressed by the acting of all the thoughts and feelings.
The set design was a home, a street and a school all at once and the costumes were for the most part typical school uniforms, which are used in British schools. The actors spoke clearly, but in songs or raps it was difficult to understand the text.
The play had some plot twists, and in conclusion, the play was a great performance, so I would even watch it twice.
